Which of these two shadowboxes do you prefer?
They are sealed, and are all made of plastic.
I prefer shadowbox number 1
#1 - the thicker sides makes it look more like a frame and less like a box
This is a very specific point of view.
We thought a narrow sides would look more elegant, but it really doesn’t look like a traditional picture frame.
I tend to offer more traditional clean wood frames such as #1 so that’s what would work best for my typical client. #2 is beautiful and I can see it being used often with a modern style- I’m not sure if it is wood or a harder plastic though, I can’t tell from the photo.
Both materials are plastics. We want to make an airtight shadowbox out of completely sealing material to prolong the longevity of dried flowers. We have tested all wooden shadowboxes and improved the craftsmanship, but it is still difficult to achieve the airtightness we require.
If there is a sealed shadowbox made of plastic but has the appearance of wood, would you find it acceptable?
I like #1. Box #2 would be great for those that work with specimens.
